"La Noche De San Juan"

Hello everyone!  It has been a while since I last posted.  So long that I am actually typing this from my home back in Mass.  Although I am no longer in Puerto Rico, I still would like to share with you a few of the fun things I did during my last few weeks on the island.  I hope you enjoy, and I will talk to you all again soon!

For years I had heard about the holiday"La Noche De San Juan" and how many people all across the island would spend all night at the beach celebrating.  However, I had never been able to experience it for myself before this summer.  On the day of "La Noche De San Juan" I of course cleaned all day to be allowed to go out later that night.  After my cousin and I all cleaned, my aunt made us a delicious dinner.  The dinner included rice, beans, breaded chicken, and sweet bananas.  My mouth waters just thinking about it.  After everyone was showered and ready to go, we headed out to a hotel that was holding an event for the night.  Don't worry though, I stuck to tradition and spent the night at the beach behind the hotel.  The tradition of "La Noche De San Juan" is not only to go to the beach at night, but to plunge yourself three times into the sea at midnight to get rid of any bad spirits that may be lurking.  At midnight my cousin, his friend and I did just that.  We added a few extra plunges just because we felt we needed the extra riding of bad spirits.  By the end of the night everyone had enjoyed each others company and fully experienced what "La Noche De San Juan" is supposed to be about.  Which is of course happiness and good vibes.

On our way to the hotel.  I loved the nights that we would go out and the setting sum made the sky look like this.

Embassy suites Dorado.  This is one of the 3 hotels that I lived in when my dad was on business in Puerto Rico for almost a year.

Part of the crew for the night!

Walking into the pool area!

My free drink that I got a voucher for when we paid the entrance few.  It is pineapple juice with Don-Q coconut rum!

Chillin with my drink, pool side, at night!

Chillin with my boys, and my drink, pool side, at night!

The main crew for the night!  Love and miss them so much!

Well this is just one of my last few experiences that I will be sharing with you.  After I've finished those I'm gonna figure out what to do with my blog next!  Talk to you all soon!
